Friesland: stars, land and water
Experience the strong-minded character of Friesland!
A visit to the fascinating planetarium which was built by the wool-comber Eise Eisinga in his living room 200 years ago. After having visited Franeker we will go on to the Epema Estate in IJsbrechtum, a distinguished manor house from 1652.
After coffee and orange cake the present estate owner, Esquire van Eysinga will tell us about the history of the property at the village church. If the weather is fine we may have a picnic in the grounds of the estate. Afterwards we will visit picturesque towns like Makkum, Workum and Hindeloopen.
To conclude our tour we shall have dinner at a country restaurant on the waterfront

extra: a sailing competition with traditional “skutsjes” (large sailing boats), followed by a captain’s dinner
